George Michael - Singer/Songwriter
George Michael will play at the Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Party, Saturday, March 6.

The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival is the world’s premier gay and lesbian cultural festival. Spanning two weeks in 2010, from the 19th February – 6th March, the Festival aims to increase visibility of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities and their culture. It has as its highlight the world-famous Mardi Gras Parade. The Parade features individual entrants in colourful costumes, gatherings of local and inter-state community group members, and elaborate floats representating a topical theme or political message.

Another Mardi Gras highlight is the iconic closing event Mardi Gras Party. It is one the largest ongoing party events in the country.

Update 03/07/10

George Michael took to the stage to perform 'Outside' but only after a double came out and tricked audiences into thinking he was the real deal before George appeared, surrounded by an entourage of cop dancers. It was the only song he 'performed' at the Mardi Gras Party.
