George Michael - Singer/Songwriter

George Michael has been sentenced to eight weeks in jail for crashing his Range Rover while under the influence of cannabis. George was also fined £1,250 at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court in London and given a five-year driving ban.

George was arrested in July in Hampstead, north London after crashing his Range Rover into a shop. Last month he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and possessing cannabis joints for his own use. He was then handed a six-month interim driving ban.

George Michael will serve four weeks in prison (starting today), with the rest of his sentence spent out on licence under the supervision of the probation service.
